Cats and the egyptians

It is know that the egyptians had a lot of zoomorphics divinitys in they culture, and among these are Bast, Ourbastis or Bastet, wich is a woman with cat face. Her city Busbastis, which means "abode of Goddess Bast", was the capital of Egypt in their time of greatest splendor, and the most important building in the city was the temple dedicated to the goddess.
The cult to the cat appear in ancient Egypt around 2900 b.C. Bastet was de goddess of fertility, happiness, maternity, fruitfulness, and other femenine virtues, besides of home protector,  and fierce advocate of the children.
